Alexander Weiss

MasterChef Junior Winner, Season 1

At just 13 years old, Alexander Weiss is not your average teenager. The Manhattan, New York resident was the winner of FOX’s MasterChef Junior Season 1! This past March, Alexander joined us alongside his competitor Jack Hoffman, to make build-your-own burgers at the Kids Food Festival! Alexander has great ease and confidence in the kitchen, and credits his parents for his cooking style. He loves to bake and is also active in a lot of other extra curricular activities such as Boy Scouts, the debate team, playing the clarinet, and performing comedy routines.

What was your favorite food to eat as a child?

I used to be a very picky eater until I was around 7. Before then, my favorite food was pasta with butter and broccoli. I would have that for lunch or dinner almost every day!

When you have children, what do you think you’ll make for or with them?

When I do have children, I’ll expose them to favors and smells at a young age! If they don’t like it then, at least they’ll know about it and may like it later in life.

What is your favorite childhood memory in the kitchen?

Baking with my mom, and cooking with my dad. I loved to watch my mom decorate the cakes.

What was your favorite recipe to help make when you were a kid?

Cupcakes and cookies!
