Eleven-year-old Jack Hoffman may not have won Season 1 of FOX’s MasterChef Junior, but this young chef is still making a splash in the culinary world! At the Kids Food Festival, he joined his fellow contestant Alexander Weiss as the duo built burgers. Outside of the kitchen, the East Rockaway, New York resident is an accomplished pianist, an avid bowler, and a tennis player. Known for cooking in his Hawaiian shirts, Jack is also a bit of a jokester who loves WWE wrestling. Jack dreams of having his own French bistro and his own cooking show one day, where he can teach others how to cook. A couple Michelin starts couldn’t hurt, either!
My favorite food as a child was steak. Now, it’s beef wellington.
My favorite childhood memory in the kitchen is helping my mom chop vegetables, while she made roasted chicken for dinner!
My favorite recipe to help make when I was younger was crab cakes. It’s still is my favorite to make today!
At just 13 years old, Alexander Weiss is not your average teenager. The Manhattan, New York resident was the winner of FOX’s MasterChef Junior Season 1! This past March, Alexander joined us alongside his competitor Jack Hoffman, to make build-your-own burgers at the Kids Food Festival! Alexander has great ease and confidence in the kitchen, and credits his parents for his cooking style. He loves to bake and is also active in a lot of other extra curricular activities such as Boy Scouts, the debate team, playing the clarinet, and performing comedy routines.
When I do have children, I’ll expose them to favors and smells at a young age! If they don’t like it then, at least they’ll know about it and may like it later in life.
Baking with my mom, and cooking with my dad. I loved to watch my mom decorate the cakes.
Cupcakes and cookies!
